Innovative “2 in 1” Constructed Wetland.

Exciting news! Our team has completed the installation of a cutting-edge hybrid Constructed Wetland (CW) in a rose nursery in Steinfurth, Germany . This project, finished in June 2023, represents a significant advancement in CW innovation, achieving superior treatment efficiency with a nearly 40% reduction in space requirements!

By utilizing a two-stage vertical filter system, we’ve optimized space utilization and enhanced treatment performance, ensuring high levels of pollutant removal, including a substantial reduction in nitrate levels.
This hybrid CW system features two hydraulically separated filters—one with medium-fine gravel and the other with sand—both fed from a single pumping shaft, a significant advantage over conventional two-stage vertical systems. In the first filter stage, wastewater undergoes pre-treatment, reducing about 80% of organic pollution before being completely returned to the pre-treatment process. This internal cycle results in an augmented reduction of nitrate. Finally, wastewater undergoes final purification in the second-stage sand filter.
Our solution not only meets strict German regulatory standards but also achieves high levels of pollutant removal, including a substantial reduction in nitrate levels. This project underscores our commitment to innovation and sustainability in environmental engineering, contributing to a cleaner, healthier environment for the community.
