German-Syriac Environment Weeks in Syria
In the past, various events under the heading “Capacity Building” (the building of capacities and responsibilities for the technical and administrative infrastructure) took place in Syria.
Since 2008, Mr Christian Schulz has attended the environment weeks a number of times. He covered, for instance, our operating experience in Kuwait, gave guidance, provided recommendations and gave planning instructions for sustainable wastewater concepts.
Until 2010, the German-Syriac environment weeks took place in Damascus and Aleppo and 2011 in Germany.
Furthermore, at the Syriac GCEC’s (General Company for Engineering and Consulting) invitation, a workshop for urban water engineers was conducted for several days in Damascus.
In association with the GCEC (General Consulting Engineering Company) in Damascus, Janisch & Schulz planned the wastewater treatment plant in the village of Kharba. It is located in the south of the country in the province of Suwayda and has got 1,000 inhabitants.
Currently, the population of Syria has more serious problems than purifying sewage. We hope for better times in Syria.
