anunciar la publicaci\u00f3n de un nuevo art\u00edculo cient\u00edfico en la revista <em>Chemical Engineering Journal<\/em>, desarrollado en estrecha colaboraci\u00f3n entre la Dra. Yamini Mittal (becaria postdoctoral indo-alemana en el equipo J&amp;S) y el equipo de ingenier\u00eda de J&amp;S.<\/p>\n<p>El estudio se basa en un humedal construido electroactivo a escala piloto que fue dise\u00f1ado, construido y operado en las instalaciones de uno de nuestros clientes de larga trayectoria, donde ya se encontraba en funcionamiento exitoso un humedal construido convencional. Esto permiti\u00f3 probar la nueva tecnolog\u00eda bajo condiciones reales de aguas residuales, integrada dentro de un concepto de tratamiento basado en la naturaleza ya existente y probado.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00bfDe qu\u00e9 se trata?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>El estudio publicado investiga un dise\u00f1o innovador de humedal construido electroactivo (EAW) que combina humedales construidos convencionales con elementos conductivos estrat\u00e9gicamente integrados. En lugar de rellenar todo el lecho filtrante con materiales conductivos costosos, el sistema utiliza capas conductivas delgadas en zonas clave de tratamiento, as\u00ed como canales conductivos verticales para mejorar la transferencia de electrones dentro del sistema.<\/p>\n<p>Probado durante un a\u00f1o completo a escala piloto con aguas residuales dom\u00e9sticas reales, el sistema demostr\u00f3 un rendimiento de eliminaci\u00f3n significativamente mayor de materia org\u00e1nica y nutrientes en comparaci\u00f3n con un humedal construido convencional, reduciendo al mismo tiempo el uso de materiales y la superficie necesaria.<\/p>\n<p>Los resultados confirman que los humedales construidos electroactivos son t\u00e9cnicamente robustos y econ\u00f3micamente viables para su aplicaci\u00f3n pr\u00e1ctica.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Resultados clave del estudio<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Mayor rendimiento de tratamiento<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>La configuraci\u00f3n electroactiva mostr\u00f3 tasas de eliminaci\u00f3n consistentemente m\u00e1s altas de DQO, amonio y fosfato en comparaci\u00f3n con un humedal construido convencional de flujo vertical.<\/p>\n<p>Se observ\u00f3 un mejor desempe\u00f1o en todas las estaciones del a\u00f1o, incluyendo el funcionamiento en invierno.<\/p>\n<p>Cabe destacar que se logr\u00f3 una mayor eliminaci\u00f3n de nutrientes incluso con menor biomasa vegetal, lo que indica que la mejora en la transferencia de electrones desempe\u00f1a un papel decisivo m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de la simple absorci\u00f3n de nutrientes por las plantas.<\/p>\n<p>Reducci\u00f3n de la superficie requerida<\/p>\n<p>Al acelerar los procesos biol\u00f3gicos y electroqu\u00edmicos, los sistemas electroactivos pueden alcanzar un rendimiento comparable \u2014o incluso superior\u2014 en superficies significativamente menores.<\/p>\n<p>Esto aborda directamente uno de los principales desaf\u00edos de los humedales construidos convencionales: la disponibilidad de terreno, especialmente en \u00e1reas urbanas.<\/p>\n<p>Uso inteligente de materiales conductivos<\/p>\n<p>El concepto innovador de canales conductivos evita la necesidad de lechos filtrantes completamente conductivos.<\/p>\n<p>En comparaci\u00f3n con sistemas totalmente conductivos, el dise\u00f1o reduce la necesidad de materiales conductivos en casi un 90 %, lo que hace que la tecnolog\u00eda sea considerablemente m\u00e1s econ\u00f3mica y escalable.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Innovaci\u00f3n basada en 30 a\u00f1os de experiencia<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Durante m\u00e1s de 30 a\u00f1os hemos dise\u00f1ado, construido y mantenido humedales construidos.
